I am excited to announce that Complex Media has acquired SuperGlued. Complex Media has been defining urban culture for over ten years,. Their knowledge and passion for music make it a great fit. I will join the company and continue to oversee SuperGlued’s future growth.

SuperGlued was founded on the basic idea that concerts are a shared experience and should be collectively celebrated and preserved. Tom Plunkett (co-founder) and I began working on the concept in late 2008 and publicly launched the first version in summer 2009. It’s been an amazing journey since then. Through it all, we’ve remained committed to the core vision. Concertgoers from around the world continue to inspire us with their photos, videos and stories. Collaborative digital scrapbooks continue to form. With Complex Media’s reach and support, we’ll be able to take it to the next level.

SuperGlued would not be possible without the hard work, inspiration and support from many people. Sincere thanks to Tom Plunkett (co-founder), Jane Mount (original SuperGlued design), Aron Mezei (lead developer), New Wave Socket team, Lucette Jefferson, Laurie Jacobsen, Justin Nesci, Sarah Huang, Ben Apple, Mitch Baruchowitz, Jerald Tenenbaum, Ilya Fridman, Fuzz Productions, Justin Pollack and Vikram Kochar.

I want to especially thank our community of live music enthusiasts for their early support. The future looks bright.

– Rush Doshi, Co-Founder

Posted in Uncategorized by superglued on October 10, 2011

Netted, a daily email curated by the Webby Awards folks, selected SuperGlued as their app of the day for October 7th. We’re super-excited to be mentioned. Here’s a blurb:

In order to properly sing the praises of our favorite bands who’ve won the fight, we use Superglued. Their website and their apps for iPhone and Android let you track all of your favorite concerts while planning for your next upcoming favorites.

Things like attending a show and uploading a photo or a set list will earn you points sometimes good for prizes—or you can just use it as your personal concert calendar. It also syncs with just about every social network available so you can spread the love wherever you want to.

Pearl Jam 20 Contest Winner

Posted in Uncategorized by superglued on August 10, 2011

Pearl Jam turns 20 years old this year. 20 years! Remember when Ten came out and you thought Eddie Vedder was the coolest guy in the world for jumping into the crowd in the Evenflow video? Pearl Jam partnered with SuperGlued to find their biggest fan. And that’s no easy task so we made it a competition. Participants earned points for posting setlists, photos and videos from PJ concerts over the past 20 years. The point leaders then put together a brief video clip with their PJ story.

Congrats to Kelly! Watch her video and be inspired. It’s funny, moving and genuine. She won a trip to Pearl Jam’s 20 year anniversary celebration in Alpine Valley. And congrats to the other contest winners and to the thousands who shared their Pearl Jam experiences.
